Soon to be cloth nappy mom

So this is the second time I’m sitting down to write my story, as the first time it never posted. Ever since hearing about cloth nappies I have wanted to become a first time cloth mom. Little did I know that becoming a mom would be a long and hard journey. We started trying for children as soon as we got married in 2018 as I knew due to my age conception might be difficult. At the time I was 38. Nothing happened for 6 months when I decided it was time to see a gynae. The first gynae I went to just said to try for 6 months and come back. We did what he suggested but nothing came of it and after doing more research on having children I realised there was a lot more he could have done. So off to gynae # 2 I went at the end of 2019. He suggested a laparoscopy to rule out endometriosis. Needles to say that is exactly what he found. By that time due to other factors I considered going the IVF route and for anyone who has gone that way, the costs are very high. I went to the Fertility show in March 2020 and new immediately where I wanted to go and which Dr I wanted to see. But alas it was not meant to be. Covid happened putting a spanner in the wheel so to say. In October 2020 we had our first appointment with our fertility specialist. He did a HSG and found a polyp in my womb which would require surgery. At the end of October it was confirmed that I had adenomyosis, which is kind of like endometriosis, but on the inside of your womb. Once I had healed Dr wanted to start our ICSI process. ICSI is one step up from IVF, due to male and female fertility factors this was the only way to go. Finances were not optimal and we needed to wait till January 2021 to do an egg retrieval. From this process we then had one perfect embryo to implant. Life happened in between, my mom’s boyfriend passed away from cancer and I went to be with her in Limpopo, I got Covid. Finally on the 31st of August 2021 we were ready to implant that one beautiful embaby. I recently went for my 12 week scan and my baby is healthy and growing strong – Thank you God! Sadly right after my 9 week scan, my husband revealed a horrible truth to me. He was in over R400 000 worth of debt. With a new baby on the way my world was shattered. All I wanted to do was buy cloth nappies, but now it didn’t seem like I would have enough funds to buy as much as what I needed. I know there are many people in far worst situations and I thank the Lord every day that I still have a roof over my head. Would really love to win this prize as a soon to be first time mom.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

I have to say the products that I have bought have been absolutely amazing!
