Dont expect much from the Hospital

I am really disappointed that I have to provide Try with information regarding the nature of the complaint when I have already detailed this below in two emails. Secondly I am really disappointed in the tone and attitude in which Try discussed the matter; she spoke in a manner that is is very condescending and unprofessional. Basically implying that if I do not provide a breakdown of the complaint that Rondebosch Medical Centre will not assist me with and will close the complaint without any resolution. It seems that she is unable to assist telephonically as she suffers from memory loss as I constantly was reminded that she cant not remember things as her memory is really bad. I will summarize my concern as follow •the attached bill from Lancet for the amount of R1934.30 which I only received last week for the first time (pdf file attached including image attached) •Lancet advised that this attached bill is for swobs (ICU swobs/ bacterial test) which was done while in ICU (I made sure that I asked the nurse the cost implications before she even took the swobs) Try, is of the opinion that I was so sick I did not know what I was going on around me) •Both Lancet and Matron Khan advised that I need to take this up with Mr. Moonsamy for assistance - which I have done already, and now I am being told off by Try. I do not see how I am liable for a cost which was 1.has not been discussed with me as a private patient (I confirmed during admission that all cost MUST be discussed before hand and permission granted) this was also noted on a file. 2.the form was filled out, but I was never informed of the test that was done, I am aware of the other test and that account was paid in full to Lancet Thirdly I am really disappointed in the overall service received from the hospital: 1.ICU extremely noisy, during the day even worst at night when the nursing staff play radio music on its loudest. when you advise the staff about the noise level you get told by nursing staff that you not the only patient so go sleep.(radio continuous playing on the loudest) 2.the noise level that echo's from the road (Athlone, Mowbray, Cape Town) shocking considering ICU suppose to be where you recover. constant noise from klipfontein road which is high traffic , basically you can monitor when buses drive past because you can hear everything through the windows. 3.The attitude of nursing staff who seems to have a better opinion than the doctor (The Doctor advised that I can walk to assist with recovery; and nurse staff of the opinion that I am not allowed to walk even after instructions received from Doctor to allow the patient to walk) 4.constant request from nurses who seem to have other more important things to do than assist a patient request ( watching tv is far more important than helping patients) 5.Attitude of nursing staff who seem to think it is funny to do "naughty finger" because they see salt on the platter with food. even though the salt was never consumed at all. I did have high blood pressure but that does not mean I did not know what was going on around me, as Try was insinuating that I was so sick that I would not have any recollection of what was going on. What I expect from Rondebosch Medical centre: Try not sure what the email is about. let me assist in summarising 1.Resolution on the cost incurred for test that was never requested (R1934) the invoice is attached 2.feedback on how you will address the overall lack of service received during the stay at hospital (5 points listed) kind regards Mr. Nizaam Lakay
