Disgusting service from owner

Went to Romans Pizza Amanzimtoti on Friday 26/05/2017. Being allergic to peppers I ordered the Pepperoni Deluxe and a BBQ Chicken pizza knowing well that these do not have peppers in them and when the cashier rang it up I told to make sure there is no peppers on them because I'm allergic to them, she checked on the screen and told me there is none. When the pizzas were ready we took them and returned home. When we got home I packed a few pieces for my husbands lunch and then we started hAvington supper together. When I took a bite of the Pepperoni pizza my mouth started burning and I know the feeling well because that's the sensation I get when I have peppers so I immediately spat it out. On looking closely at the pizza I noticed a tiny piece of pepper on it and my mouth and lips started burning and I immediately called the store and spoke to the manageress Bongi . When I told her what happened she apologised and offered me another pizza I then explained to her that I am allergic to pepper and she asked me if I had whatsapp and that I should take pictures and send it to her which I did , she then sent me a what'sapp message saying she was very sorry I then went on to explain to her that I need to use my Epipen which I carry with ne because I go into anaphylaxis and explained to her that I could die because my throat starts to restrict and that the Epipen cost about R1900 and that they will have to pay for it. I explained to her that if I get too bad I will have to go into hospital and they (Roman's) would have to fit the bill. I have all the whatsapp messages from her saved on my phone. I then sent her pics of my swollen lios and my Epipen and the bracelet I wear all tge time notifying anyone that I carry an Epipen to be used in an emergency. I then also took Pulmison tablets and began to feel drozy and fell off to sleep. I was awoken later in the evening g by a phone call by the manageress again who apologised again and said that she had spoken to the owner and he informed her that I must come in the next day with the pizza. I then put the said piece of pizza in a packet to take to the store. When I got there this afternoon I asked for the manageress and was told she was on lunch but that they were going to call for her. She came to me and I asked her if the owner was not there and that when she spoke to him he had asked her to call him when I come. So I asked her to call him which she did and he came to the store on about 10 minutes. I then spoke to him and told him what had happened. He then went on to explain and show me how the pizza was made and that it was impossible for pepper to get into the pizza but at the same time he says that it's not guaranteed that a pizza will not have peppers in them. Does that make sense because if you order a pizza withour peppers it's should not have peppers on it. But then the manager is saying that he cannot guarantee that they won't have peppers. He then asked staff if they ever mix any of the toppings. He then went and checked the piece of pizza that I had brought in and when I showed him the pizza we found another piece of paper on it he insisted that it looks like chillies and not pepper. He then went on to pointment out the peppers and the chillies and even asked the manager what the piece we found looked like and she said it looked like chillies as well. He then went and called the cashier who took my order and he aked her if I asked her for the pizza without peppers on it and she confirmed that I did ( because I told her I do not want any pepper Red, Green,Yell, Orange or whatever colour they have because I'm allergic) but she says she only remembers me asking for the pizza without green and yellow peppers. He then went on to say that the moment a customer says they are allergic to something they have to refuse tge customer and turn them down because they cannot guarantee that a pizza will not have something that they are allergic to and the staff are also aware of that. So then I asked him why did they serve me in the first pace. He said that because I did not tell them that I was allergic ( which I did) . Ive been to the store on numerous occasions and everytime I've been there I always order pizzas without peppers and I tell the cashiers that. He then asked 2 other cashiers if they remember me and none of them could. He then told me that there's a long process to go through because they have to analyse the pieces of pepper and prove that they are chillies and not pepper and that he will also have to check my medical record and prescriptions ( God only knows for what) I told him again that I am Indian and that chillies are a staple in my food and that I only react the way I did to peppers and not chillies. I told him I have pictures of how my lips swelled up and a video of me taking the piece of pepper out which I then showed him, he still continued to insist that it's chillies and nor peppers. So my question to him and Romans is , IS A PEPPERONI DELUXE PIZZA SUPPOSED TO EVEN HAVE CHILLIES (PEPPERS) ON THEN IN THE FIRST PLACE? . I am absolutely amazed at his insistence that they cannot guarantee that a pizza may not have something on it that you do not ask for and that the moment you say you are allergic to something that they use they refuse to serve you. Come on Romans get you act together and admit you made admit mistake, don't turn the situation admit round admit roundness make it look like it's the customers fault for ordering a pepper free pizza but finding peppers on it is there fault. I am totally disgusted and annoyed at tge manner in which the owner handled the situation and made it look like I made the story up and that it's ok if you order something and find something else on it as it cannot he guaranteed that your pizza may or may not contain something you specivic ally and sled not for. Awaiting a response from that branch as soon as the analysis get back.

I have spoken to a woman by the name of Mandy who listened to my complaint and assured me she was going to contact Warren the owner of the said store, he amazingly called me back the next day to inform me that he does have public liability insurance and that I should get my lawyer to put in a claim to his insurance and they will handle it, so I asked what if I don't have a lawyer what should I do? He informed me that I must, now I've got to engage a lawyer ( at whose expense may I ask) who isprobably going to charge an arm and a foot just to get them to pay for my Epipen. Common sense which I have now realised the owner does not have Estimated cost of attorney +-R2000 plus R1800 for pen I actually lose R200 should just pay for the pen myself. Works out way cheaper.

Without sounding rude but this is bull****, to think that you walk into a Romans Pizza store and order specifically what you want but that they cannot guarantee that what you get is what you asked for. FirSt time in my life have I heard such bull**** and then if you have a problem before it is sorted out the said item has to go in for analysis, and you have to also engage the services of an attorney to get what they mucked up in the first place. Only in SA will you hear such bulls hit ever

Trying to change the rating from 1 to minus 10 but unfortunately it does not allow me to do this. Anyone knows how I contact the Hindu Mahal Saba of SA to inform them of Romans policy so that the Indian community made be madequate aware of the fact that Romans cannot guarantee that what you ordeed is what you get and that their vegetarian pizza which we Indians assume to be vegetarian may actually contain pieces of meat in it.
