Scratched watch and buffed out engraving

Having been a loyal customer for many years, I took my wris****ch for battery replacement yesterday morning. I was most disappointed upon receiving my watch back with a horrible scratch on the back plate. When questioning jeweller on this, he admitted to scratching the back of my watch whilst he was opening it! He apologised, and my reply to him was that damage already done. Jeweller then took my watch back to buff out the scratch (which is now less) and I noticed when I got home that he also managed to buff the engraving which is now lighter as compared to the rest! I am not happy at all. I take my watches to professionals for the simple reason that I expect professional service. The scratch may not be a big deal to the jeweller, but it is of great sentimental value to me as my wife gave it to me upon our reunion. I am not returning to Roma anytime soon.
