AUTOMATED GARAGE DOORS NOT WORKING

Good afternoon,

I had my garage roller door automated by Roll-A-Coastal Doors and am extremely dissatisfied. Before they started working on the doors, both doors opened and closed without any hassle.

After working on the doors for most of the day, I was informed that there were all kinds of problems fixing the motor. They then proceeded to charge me extra to service the doors and tension on the doors to make the installation work.

Dino requested seconds after installation (after 5:00 in the afternoon) to make an immediate payment into his account, to pay the laborers. Black marks covered the right hand door, where the railing scored the paint. I was given discount to cover the bank charges for releasing the payment with immediate effect. (This should have been a red flag!). I ordered 2 remotes, but received only one, with the promise that the other would be delivered to my work address the following day. I also asked him how to disengage the motor, if something should go wrong. He was unwilling to show me how to disengage the motor. He assured me that that would be unnecessary, as there is a battery backup. (This should have been a second red flag!)

The remote was never delivered as promised. The noises started emanating from the doors the next day. Three days later there was a terrific noise and the garage doors would not close. After inspection we found that the one door had NO tension left on it. The black marks were back in full glory and I was unable to close the doors. My husband figured out how to disengage the motor, just to find that the casing was damaged. Further inspection showed that the pop rivets in the brackets holding the damaged door's bar to link the doors to the motor had not been riveted at the bottom.

Several unanswered phone calls and 3 emailed requests to come and fix the problems, there has been no response. I managed to get though to his phone once and he promised to come and sort it out, but no action has been taken.
