Not what they used to be

<p>Bought a new Rolex 5 years ago, iy slowed down and stopped intermittently so took it to agents Arthur Kaplan ( Rolex themselves wont take it !!! ) after nearly four weeks they told me it needed a complete overhaul......just under R5000.00 When I took the matter up with MD SA of Rolex Jayne, she wrote back saying it was quite standard. I wrote again and said I dont buy her explanation and to date she has not responded. When you buy a Breitling, they give a five year warranty on condition you bring the watch to Breitling SA every two years for them to check the movement at THEIR cost, my suggestion buy a 15K watch and replace it every five years. Rolex not the front runner it used to be. Remember when you have forked out 75K for a new Rolex, its quite standard to need to pay another 5K five years later to have "a complete overhaul " even a Merc or BMW comes with a six year maintenance warranty. I wouldnt buy a Rolex again.</p>
