Shocking service and aftersales

Good day Mr Ruthven.

Athena alerted to me to the below mail from you regarding our technician overfilling your vehicle with 3 litres of oil when your vehicle was here for a service on the 31.08.2023 (Winter Special).

I discussed this allegation with my Master Technician, and he advised that it is impossible to overfill a vehicle with that much amount of oil.

He also advised me, that for arguments sake, that if a vehicle is overfilled, it will exhibit immediate signs of overfilling and not about 2 months later. The seals would start leaking and the vehicle would start smoking almost immediately.

The technician also questioned where and when this amount of oil was removed from the vehicle. Was it when the vehicle was hot and under operating temperature or was it cold/standing for a while when all the oil is settled at the bottom.

My technicians service a lot of Rangers daily and they know the exact amount of oil each model takes, so the chance of them overfilling a vehicle with 3 litres of oil is highly improbable.
