Excellent Service after such a long time

Last night 28th August 2017. We (my husband and I) went to Rocomamas on Malibongwe. It was relatively late, almost 9pm. We were perusing the menu but decided to also look at the other specials on the monitor which was right at the front of the store and because we were too lazy to get up and look at it, we were straining our eyes to read what the special smash burgers were. A waiter saw us and offered us to rather read the specials off the menu card that was actually on our table.. our bad... BUT, he noticed. Which means he was paying attention. We all laughed it off, thanked him and carried on with our evening. We then ordered our meals from a very efficient named Ryan. As we ate our meal, I realised that my wings were underdone, so I called Ryan and asked him if they could please take it back to the kitchen and just cook it a bit more and bring it back. He took it away, apologising profusely. A minute later, the manager approaches us and I was already ready to defend myself as I have found myself doing if ever we have a problem at a restaurant (we don't complain anymore unless it's life threatening or not edible because service levels in SA are just abysmal and people in the service industry don't give a continental...) The manager says, "Ma'am, Ryan tells me that there was a problem with your wings and I can see that they are underdone. I am so sorry. We will make you a fresh plate of wings for the inconvenience and we are really sorry about this" I was so taken aback, I just smiled, thanked him and let him look after us the way all restaurants should in situations like this.

The reason for this review is to highlight that Rocomamas on Malibongwe gave us TOP CLASS service, and it was TOP CLASS also, because we (patrons in SA) have forgotten what it's like to be treated like paying customers and we apologise and accept bad service.

Thank you to the Manager, Ryan and the other staff at Rocomammas Malibongwe for being the exception to the norm.
