Thatchers DO NOT USE !

<p>Absolutely ********** service. I have had to have the thatch redone, as well as all Gum Poles changed! And capping redone! I will paste what the building inspector had to say :</p> <p> </p> <p>This gum poles supporting the structure is a marvel to me, the beam that is carrying the roof at the narrowest point in the building, above the inset windows, is high at one end and low at the other. The top of the vertical pole at the northern end is 2030mm above the Finished Floor Level (FFL) while the top of the vertical pole at the southern end is 2230mm above FFL. That’s 200mm out of level.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have issues with the cross member at the south end above the double doors. The practical behind the theory is that we try to load the truss evenly. This is done by having one side mirrored to the other side, keeping all sections of the frames even with each other, and keeping the bottom cord horizontal, also by keeping all the members on the same plane.</p> <p> </p> <p>Roofs get their strength through triangular elements within the framework as triangles don’t deform with loading. Therefore, there is a need for all triangles to be complete. The triangle I have marked on the right is complete while the one in the left is not. This is very concerning as it is not structurally sound.</p> <p> </p> <p>Looking up through the thatching to the underside of the ridge capping it has what appears to many small holes in it. This may have been acceptable when it was a Lapa at any leaks would probably hit the ground and dry without being noticed. As a room with a sealed floor and furniture it will it will most definitely be noticed.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
