Rock Pools Cape Town owner Reinier Van Der Merwe is unreliable and dishonest while the quality of work is substandard.

Within a month or into the job cracks started to appear in the paving and bullnose around the pool. Once the bulk of the work was finished in late October and majority of the money paid over it became an endless series of broken promises and missed appointments with repeated excuses about broken trucks, labourers, finishing other big jobs, etc..... with never a courtesy call to apologise.

More quality issues became apparent when the cement plaster on top of a brick bar they built came off then the wooden bar counter was glued to it and the tiled strip and resin around the pool top was left unfinished and rough enough to cut my granddaughters hand. It has cost me additional money to fix urgent defects while all plans on opening up our Lapa in November and for Xmas came to naught.

Reinier came around late January 2021 (upon repeated requests to do so since October 2020) and made the same notes in his black book he made before, promising to come around to fix the pool and paving with his crew within the following few days and yet again, nothing has happened. I am now seeking legal restitution.
