Rochester - go elsewhere.

We paid up front for 6 bar stools at Northgate Mall. Delivery was to be later that week. On the Saturday we received a phone call asking if we would accept 4 brown and 2 blue chairs. Would you accept that? Then we were told that they now didnt have stock but that they would give us a discounted price on another style which was more expensive. We paid in the difference as well as a huge difference for delivery. Since then however we get one story after another.

Finally 3 weeks later we were told that I needed to send them my ID in order for them to access the stools from the warehouse in Carltonville, alternatively wait for Monday and they would deliver. I said I would wait for Monday. Monday came and it moved to Tuesday.

I contacted their so-called help desk. A number of emails later and then silence. The Regional Manager as the Regional Operations Manager who I was assured would contact me are missing in action. Now all of sudden there is only stock in Durban and it will take another few days to bring up.

I tried getting hold of management but they wont put me through. My impression is that they know that their service is so pathetic that they are terrified to speak to a customer.

Over the past few years I have spent over R60k with Rochester. No more. Their service is non-existent.
