Mixed Messages, get your story straight!

My partner called Rochester and spoke to Faith to inquire if a damaged couch is still under warranty, Faith then then confirmed that the couch is indeed under warranty however, she failed to confirmed that we would be liable for repairs, the only amount that we were told about was the amount for delivery which was R1000. We opted to drop the couch off with our own vehicle.

We then dropped off the couch at Rochester. The couch accepted by Rochester, on 10th of January with no invoice, no indication that there would be a cost implication for us. After countless attempts to get feedback. Faith contacted us on the 9th February 2015 and to our surprise we were told to pay for the damages on the couch. This is negotiating in bad faith (how ironic) that the couches were taken without telling us that we would be liable for the damages.

We feel cheated by Rochester, if this was an error on their part why should we be liable for it! For a high-end furniture store you are displaying pawn shop tendencies. Faith and co. are refusing to reply to emails but opt to call back, Probably because they are avoiding a paper trail of their shoddy work! I'm in absolute awe!
