Lost my Deposit

This is probably the most disgusting response i have ever had from any shop. I paid a deposit in October for an Amy Bedroom Suite with Rochester Brooklyn. Agreement was that i would have to pay it off in 6 months. Mind you i have paid a deposit which is almost half of the selling price for the suite.

Unfortunately in December i had problems of which i communicated with the salesperson who in turn said to me that he would discuss it with his head office to make rearrangements because i wasnt cancelling the purchase. i waited on the salesperson's response for a while now and recently contacted the store so we could arrange to pay off the balance or if the store would refund me my deposit should we fail to have such an agreement.

The Store Manager has been sending me from pillar to post because they now say the salesperson has resigned and he says i have basically forfeited R15000 olf my deposit.

I dont know what store operates like that, i dont know if this is some kind of a sick joke of if i'm being taken advantage of. All i want to understand is how it makes sense to anyone, that i can just lose out on my deposit to a store just because the salesperson has resigned and why is Rochester so adamant to return my deposit.

The Rochester response is noted. However, it is extremely unsatisfactory and rather worrying that my complaint that was lodged on Hello Peter on 6 March 2016 is only being acknowledged on 11 April 2017.04.11 I would appreciate a definite date on which Rochester will resolve this matter. Regards, unhappy customer!
