Forcing me to take insurance on my couch

I bought a couch in January and found out that half of my installment is for insurance only! That is about R500 every month for insurance on a couch!!! I asked them to remove it or to at least change it to a smaller package but they refused and wanted to involve lawyers. Insurance on my car is less than that and when the next door neighbor's cat came in and peed on it they didn't want to pay out to have it cleaned. They said it wasn't accidental damage! I hate Rochester and will never buy there again since they are forcing me to pay R500 a month on insurance for such a stupid thing.
