DO NOT BUY ROBOGUARDS BEAMS

1. I bought two Roboguard beams and interface at Stafix Pinetown in 2019, they were installed by an accredited installer. 2. Mid last year I changed the batteries on both guards. I bought batteries at Stafix Pinetown. 3. Last week Friday 05.01.24 the guard was triggering false alarms. 4. I opened it thinking it was Ants and discovered that the batteries had discharged. 5. Today I took the beam to Stafix Pinetown and initially the technician said the bottom eye had corroded because of water damage that ingresses through the eye cover. 6. He said the Roboguard isn’t waterproof and that it should periodically be checked for water ingress. This is an outdoor beam why is not waterproof? 7. I disputed his findings with the pictures I had taken, and he confirmed that the battery had discharged, and the acid flowed and damaged the bottom eye. He said this is a common issue when the eye draws too much current and that customers must periodically check for battery discharge before the acid causes damage.

When I bought the beams, I was informed to replace the batteries with originals in order to protect the eye or I will lose the warranty if I don’t comply because originals come are covered in plastic that protects the eyes should the battery discharge and I have comp**** with that. I was never told to periodically open the beam and check for water ingress or battery acid. I only open the beam when there are ants. I don’t see how this is my fault when I comp**** by buying original batteries. How many eyes am I going to replace if the battery acid keeps damaging them?

I sent a complaint to Roboguard and I was informed they are a reseller and that they sent my complaint to Stafix Pinetown owner and I haven't heard from him.

DO NOT BUY ROBOGUARDS. THEY ARE NOT WATERPFOOF OR RESISTANCE AND THEY ARE DAMAGED BY ORGINAL THEIR OWN BATTERIES. I HAVE WAISTED R7000 ON THIS EQUIPMENT.POOR DESIGN AND CONCPET AND A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.
