Professional culture and leadership concerns

There appears to be a concerning lack of professional respect shown toward certain teachers, interns, particularly newer staff members. Communication from leadership can at times feel dismissive and condescending, which creates an uncomfortable and discouraging work environment. Rather than fostering a culture of mentorship and support, interactions often leave teachers feeling undervalued. There also seems to be inconsistency in how situations involving learners and staff are handled. In some cases, learner concerns are prioritised without a balanced or fair process that allows teachers to feel heard and supported. This creates the impression that staff wellbeing is not always given equal consideration. Strong leadership should promote professionalism, mutual respect, and open communication. Unfortunately, the current environment can feel hierarchical rather than collaborative, which impacts morale. This is a school with great potential, dedicated teachers, and wonderful learners. However, meaningful change in leadership approach and staff support would significantly improve the working environment and overall stability of the school. This review is shared in the hope that leadership reflects on the staff experience and works toward building a more respectful and supportive professional culture.
