INADEQUATE AND UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICES

My name is Valerie Carolus and I was in an accident on 30 November 2013 coming from work. A close friend of mine suggested that I speak to her lawyer about my accident seeing that she knew that his firm deals with RAF CLAIMS and divorces. I made the appointment and spoke to Mr George Smith who works for this law firm and after taking all my details and accident report I signed Special a Power of Attorney in Cape Town on 13 January 2014. I don't remember the name of his intern but she and Edwina signed the document as witnesses that day. I stayed in contact with Mr G Smith and sent messages as well as emails to ask for updates on my RAF case as well as my divorce case. He was always vague about it and told me that cases like mine could take up to 3 years or more. I after my divorce I contacted him again about the RAF claim and i was told he was not in or to leave a message. Eventually I got tired of it and went to the RAF myself, only to learn that Mr G Smith never lodged the claim and that the time to do that expired. I was told to seek private legal assistance or go to legal aid. None of this has been of much help so far.

My injuries has worsened and i have been attending physiotherapy as well as other treatments. Rob Green was contacted by my lawyer Nico who works for Lester and Associates and I was positive again, only to be told in February 2019 that they could no longer assist me. I have been struggling with working normally and after my work assessment at Grootte Schuur I was told that I will not be able to do nursing again. My standard of living has decreased due to my accident and my bills is piling up. I still have all my documentation of everything as well as doctor's reports. This is the first time I've gone to report it online and I hope that my review is not too long. I am unemployed and a first year student at a TVET College doing my matric my Tourism course which will finish in 2021 God willing.

I would like to be compensated for their negligence on not being professional and honest by proving me with legal services.
