Took too long with my vehicle

I am disappointed with my experience at Roadstar Panel & Paint. My vehicle was booked in on 30 April after what I believe was relatively minor damage to one side of the vehicle, along with a broken rear brake disc. I was initially told that the repairs would be completed by 22 May, but I only received my vehicle on 2 July. That meant my car was with them for 64 days (46 working days). The delay caused significant inconvenience. I had planned around the original completion date, and everything beyond that resulted in unexpected out-of-pocket costs, including alternative transport, as well as a great deal of frustration. While some of the communication was generally good, I often felt that I wasn't getting the full picture regarding the actual progress of the repairs. I visited the workshop several times, and on a number of occasions it appeared that very little progress had been made. Even after approvals had reportedly been received, there were still lengthy delays, which made me feel that my vehicle simply wasn't a priority nor was there full honesty. There also seemed to be a lot of blame being passed between MiWay Insurance, the assessor and Roadstar, but from a customer's perspective, those internal issues should not result in such an extended repair period. I do want to acknowledge that some of the staff were genuinely friendly, helpful, and professional. My frustration is not with those individuals but with the overall repair process and the excessive time it took to complete what appeared to be a relatively straightforward repair. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not choose Roadstar Panel & Paint again if I had the option. I believe they have good people working there, but there are clearly issues with turnaround times, prioritisation, or workshop management that need to be addressed. I hope they improve, because no customer should have to wait this long for repairs of this nature.
