ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I have been a claimant of the Road Accident Fund (RAF) since my car accident in November 1991. For the last 15 months I have been sent from one office to another (RAF has several regional offices) with nobody taking the time to attend to my outstanding monthly claims. The amount due to me was more than R 30 000. Excuse after excuse - from COVID to attorneys being paid before individuals. Then, I contacted the one person whose name I could remember - Dakalo Ndou. He took control immediately, determined what the problem was, asked me to send a confirmation e-mail or two and less than 10 days later the R30k was in my bank account. What DEPARTMENTS / OFFICES could not do in 15 months, this man did in less than 10 days. How? Easy. He did not say "It's not my department". No, he took the time to listen and made the effort to personally took over my case. He did not send me to a different colleague, department nor office! He was like the NIKE brand - He "Just Did It". SA Government departments can be effective. They can be as great as JSE listed companies. They need the right PERSON on the right SEAT on the right BUS heading in the right DIRECTION. It is all it takes! Thanks, Dakalo. The RAF must clone you so it can become more effective! Your next stop should be as an intern at a big and reputable legal firm! I wish you only the best!
