Caregivers salaries and medical claims late reimbur*****t from RAF

Good day

To whom it may concern

Attached are the communication I send through to the RAF with regards to my reimbur*****t of the salaries of my caregivers, that is outstanding now for more than 3 months. I had to pay the caregivers and wait for the RAF to reimburse me. I don't mind if it is paid late but more than 3 month who will be able to afford it out of you monthly salary and still commit to you monthly expenses. Through many emails and phone calls, Werner Liebenberg and myself have been struggling for an answer as to when it will be paid. We've copied so many people in our emails and still no feedback or response from all that was copied in the email. The only response we get is when they answer the phone is that they are busy with it and cannot say when it will be captured or paid. So many excuses but no action.

I've spoken to the call center on the 16 May 2024 and again today 20 May 2024 and still no request for payment is showing on the system. According to them after the request for payment is loaded on the system then it will take 30 to 60 days for payment to be paid in your bank account. So then it is another 2 months we have to wait for reimbur*****t. THis is really ridiculous on how long they take to pay.

I couldn't pay my Medical aid for April 2024 and is with no cover and as a paraplegic I cannot afford to be without a medical aid. They don't care about us just saying that they busy with it and it's the process. On the attached mail you can see my complaint I send through without any response.

RE: Caregivers Salaries and medical claims to be reimbursed

I am extremely concerned about the following outstanding reimbur*****ts. The salaries of my caregiver Joey Roos and the relieving caregiver Elsie van Schalkwyk have not been reimbursed to me as I had to pay their salaries out of my daily expenses budget from January 2024 up and until April 2024. I no longer have any funds available to pay their salaries and are running low or have no funds for my needs as you are aware I'm a paraplegic and there are all extra expenses . My caregivers are relying on their income every 31th of each month as they also have financial responsibilities. All the necessary documentation has. been submitted to Godfrey Motseler and according to my knowledge everything is in order. Please can you look into this as I no longer have funds as from May 2024 and I can't be without caregivers looking after me.

The second query I have is on my medical claims that have not been processed or actioned since 2018 up and until now. Assuming that Godfrey Motseler my Case Manager is not getting to that part of my claims as he is not giving me feedback or neither am I reimbursed for it. It seems like he is only getting to the part of the claims for the caregivers thus I am worried it's not paid attention to.

I'm also desperately in need of a new wheelchair and we have submitted all necessary quotations and photos however I'm still waiting if this was received and if it is in order, processed or what information is outstanding. I'm relying on a wheelchair, I need this to be sorted out.

My RAF claim is due to my disability in 2013, I've got certain financial obligations as I also have a dependant that is relying on me. I'm in need of caregivers, daily medication, daily hygiene and with basic daily tasks I need assistance. If I do not have caregivers all the funds to take care of my needs the possibility of getting bladder infections, bed sores are all prone to happen to a paraplegic if they don't have the essentials they need on a daily basis.

I desperately need to be reimbursed for all the expenses of all the payments I've made upfront. I was only able to pay a part of my water and electricity bill. Some of my debit orders bounced. I need my medical aid and policies and if the debit order is bounced I am charged a penalty fee and sometimes a late-payment fee and added interest to my account. Bounced debit orders can reflect negatively on my credit profile.

I called the call center yesterday to find out what is happening with my payments. Angelo could only tell me that it is showing on the system but there is no request for payment showing on the system.. There are 2 requests for payments on the system but it is for claims and not for caregivers. Reference number: C-***.
