Consumer Awareness Post This kitchen installation was carried out by RML Projects Louis Muller at our home. Unfortunately, the workmanship has proven to be defective and unsafe. A formal notice, “FORMAL NOTICE: DEFECTIVE WORKMANSHIP, BREACH OF CONTRACT, AND DEMAND FOR REMEDY”, was sent to the contractor on 09 February 2026, but we have received no response. Visible and verifiable defects include: LED lighting installed incorrectly, including a lighting switch installed directly next to a gas bottle, creating a serious fire hazard and safety concern (photo shown) Other documented defects include: A kitchen island countertop that is visibly sagging when viewed Cupboards, drawers, and shelves incorrectly manufactured and requiring full replacement Mould found inside a cupboard unit Countertops spaced using paper and stone fragments Kickplates installed at incorrect heights, causing misalignment and an improper finish No Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC) provided despite repeated requests The contractor previously acknowledged certain defects in writing and shared photographs of some snag items; however, those items represent only a portion of the problems identified and do not reflect the full scope of the issues documented. These defects have been formally documented, photographed, and independently assessed. The estimated cost to correct the work is R160,000. This post is shared for consumer awareness purposes only, based solely on verifiable facts and documented evidence.
