Petrol Contamination in Diesel Car

On 19 Aug 2015 my wife had the unfortunate incident where unleaded petrol was put into her car. We did not realise it at that time and only thought that the car was having difficulty starting. I took it to a workshop in Brackenfell and R45 000 later, the problem was fixed. I was quite stressed about this incident and returned back to RJ Service Station to enquire about whether they have insurance cover for such incidents. This is a Caltex Service Station. I was met by a guy called Hassan and manager Sheila. Hassan was very sympathetic to me and we went through the CCTV forage to see which petrol pump was used. We managed to determine which pump was used and could confirm that indeed petrol was thrown in. RJ Service Station proceeded to submit a claim on my behalf. During this time, I communicated with Riaz, the owner. Riaz was also very understanding and went out of his way to assist me and to put my mind at ease. The insurance claim was approved and I received all my money back. Riaz and his team were brilliant and were shining examples on how a customer should be treated. They are good ambassadors for Caltex. They must keep up their good work.
