Falling accident at shopping centre
I went shopping at Checkers in Riverview Shopping Centre this afternoon. It was raining and it was around 17h00. The shopping Centre was renovated last year, and the walkways re-tiled. Checkers was also renovated. When I reached the entrance in front of Checkers, I slipped on the wet tiles and fell. I am a bit sore after the fall, and it feels like my back is hurting a bit. Another person came to my aid and helped me up. Then someone from the parking area,(a customer for Checkers I presume), came towards me and suggested that I report my incident, just in case I have problems in my body of some sort, as a result of the fall. Apparently, his daughter has a similar experience a few days ago in this same Centre. First I could not find Centre management, but then after a while, I found an elderly couple who fills that profile. They were not interested in my falling accident, and just shrugged their shoulders. The lady pointed me to a sign which read that a person enters the Centre at their own risk. They accept no liability whatsoever. I demanded to have the contact details of the owner of the Centre. His name is George Papawanas,(not sure if i spelled it correctly). What are my rights in this regards? Dave van der Linde
