Spa closed down and no refund for spa vouchers purchased

I purchased two gift spa vouchers in May 2019 to the value of R1500, that were valid for a year. When the recipients tried to make a booking with the the Riverside Hotel, they were told the spa has closed down. The hotel provided no further assistance or refund, even after numerous emails. Very disappointing
