Lease agreement term ended - Deposit Refund

On occupying the flat on the 01 April 2014, the flat was still a mess there were people painting the flat some were fixing the cupboard and some were still busy cleaning, on top of that it was raining. I had to keep my belongings on the balcony, the agent at the time was Dwayne left me with the piece of paper that I must write the faults that i find in the flat and email it back to him. Now the lease has ended they want to take R4 550 for damages out of R6 863.19 and give me back R2 313.19. Among other charges they recovered replacement of 2 cupboard shelves which i am not sure about the other one and all curtain rails, I did not find a single curtain rail, i used my own rails. One shelf on my bed room cupboard was damaged when i get there because the guy that was fixing the cupboards put in a ***** so scew that it ********** the shelf on the side but my mistake of cause was not to write it on that piece of paper I was left with, but I did complain about lot of other things that i did not get response to date. I refuse to pay 90% of my deposit for the flat that I found damaged. No one took me through the inspection but now when I am leaving they charge me so much. Please assist.
