Shocking treatment of pets' remains

I have to agree with Nicolette's post from September 2023. My husband and I worked behind a veterinarian in Muizenberg around 2015-17 and what she mentions was standard practice. The R.I.Pets van would come once or twice a week and all the black bags with pet remains would be thrown in the back like *******. I used to dread the days they would come because it was quite shocking to witness. So Nicolette's experience is most definitely not an isolated incident.

Today, I received from R.I.Pets the cremated remains of (what I hope is) my cat. It came in a beautiful little pot with a ribbon and a certificate with gold lettering, but sadly and unfortunately their claims in the accompanying brochure of being compassionate, respectful and dignified is not in line with what I witnessed many, many times. In leaving this review it is my hope that with staff training or perhaps updated procedures / incentives the reality will start matching their promotional claims.
