<p>I bought a Merc 220 cdi on 21/10/2016 from them. Paid R80 000 + R12 999 for a warrantee. (Cash.)</p> <p>I was told the car was 100% and had been serviced 3 weeks prior.</p> <p>I had to take it for roadworthy.</p> <p>Within 2 weeks the front window motor packed in.</p> <p>I took it to an RMI workshop to replace, and asked them to check the car for roadworthy.</p> <p>They f ound the following problems:</p> <p>1) Big bubble in front tyre.</p> <p>2) The 2 tensioner belts needed replacing.</p> <p>3) No front mud flaps - meaning the headlight wiring gets wet in the rain.</p> <p>4) Upon lifting the engine cover they saw a huge carbon build-up, and the no.1 injector was blowing back.</p> <p>This could have caused damage to the cylinder head. (Up to R60k to repair!)</p> <p>They informed me that this was an old problem and would have been known to the dealership.</p> <p> </p> <p>I contacted Martin De Lange the Manager of Right Cars Northriding, and after a week of back and forth communication, he informed me that the owner is not prepared to do anything! I am responsible for the repairs!</p> <p> </p> <p>They clearly sold me a defective car with latent defects!</p> <p> </p> <p>Now I know why they have huge Nigerian bodyguards at the entrance!</p> <p> </p>
HI. When you made decision to buy car , you are given options eg bring your own mechanic. You also go for a test drive and make sure that you are satisfied with the car. Then you get a checklist from our salesman where you go through hole car and tick and sign that you are happy with your vehicle.
Roadworthy we dont do on cash deals , only on finance deals ( we service car and inspect car through out only for finance deals). We choose which cars can be financed by bank institutions, not all our cars fall in this category . We are a wholesaler hence the cheap prices.
We also advised you that you must service your car as soon as you buy , as this is necessary for activation of your warranty . Warranty is through a 3rd party company , not direct through us. Please understand that 6 months guarantee does not apply with Cash purchases, that's also clearly said on your offer to purchase where you signed and acknowledged.
