Suspicious pricing at Rietondale Pickleball Club.

On 4 October 2024, my family and I went to register for Pickleball at the Rietondale Pickleball Club. There was signage that used Pickleball Bats were R55. Upon query the Assistant advised that the used bats were in fact R200. He also suggested that we also consider Rietondale Tennis Club. We returned 30 minutes later, and a new person was there. He was rude and did not greet us. I wanted to purchase the used pickleball bats and he said it was R400 each. I informed him that 30 minutes ago the price was R200. He had an attitude and said that he was the Manager and insisted that the price was R400 each. He also said that the Assistant did not know the prices. I asked for the owner's contact details and the Manager did not have it and only had details of the coach. The Assistant returned and I confirmed that the price of the bats was R200; he confronted the Manager and then the Manager said we could purchase the bats for R200. We did not purchase the pickleball bats as the difference in prices were suspicious. I believe that someone is trying to make extra money on the side. The Manager is rude, unapologetic and is giving a poor image of the Club. The Security advised that the Manager is the owner’s son. I strongly advise that players confirm the prices with the owner/ or on their website before paying any funds to the Managers/Assistants.
