Waste of Time and Money

ADDITION: Richfield staff have continually called and emailed me to get me to pay for a year of studies. I never gave them permission to submit an application in my name.

I corresponded with a man named Nomhle, who was supposed to help me apply for RPL (recognition of prior learning). After learning that they did not recognize my two years of professional studies and two years of professional IT work, I decided to not study with them and go with another institution that is not full of nonsense (long story short: they claim that my two years of full time studies are mere short SETA programs, not actual professional qualifications, and they refused to even consider the idea that they may be wrong. I even offered them the number of someone to clarify the whole thing to them, and they just ignored me. They insisted that I have to start from year 1 all over again. The whole thing sounded like a way to get money out of students who may not know better and would just go along with whatever they say. However, I do not have the money nor the time to go along with this nonsense).

I never submitted an application to study and someone did it on my behalf without my permission. I have now received numerous emails stating that I owe them student fees. I have repeatedly communicated that I want no further contact with them, and that I want all of my information removed. They have evidently refused to do that because I am still getting emails about needing to pay "my first year fees".

Don't let them bully you. I had someone call me, then hang up on me when I told them I wanted all my information removed. I then proceeded to call him back and he refused to pick up. I eventually called Richfield and told them to get the man to call me back. All they said was "he's on his lunch break".

All I can say is: don't let them bully you. There are much better and more organized institutions out there.

I had a terrible experience and I hope this review helps deter people from going through what I am still currently experiencing. The people at Richfield that I dealt with only care about money. That's the only reason I can see why my two years of studies (I have an NQF level 6 qualification, one level/year away from having a degree) was rejected, and why I am being hounded for money for an application that was submitted by a Richfield staff member without my permission.
