Distance learning - the worst ever! If there was less than a 1 star rating, that would've been my review. I registered in July. 3 months in and I have major issues with nobody to address them with. The student advisors, Saphokazi and Smangele are not helpful. At the extent that Smangele (assigned to me) ignores my emails. Workshop dates are sent via email last minute. Some lecturers are never present. We sit for 20 - 40mins on end waiting, only to be told, "The workshop will be rescheduled." I recently found out some lecturers quit working at the college, hence the disruptions. It's infuriating because this was not communicated to students, from the school. And the lecturers that are substitute do not teach. They read through the exact same powerpoint documents uploaded on moodle, with no time to ask if anybody has any questions. After the first assignments, there was no workshop for any corrections, or at least a memo that one can refer to. I don't even know why some answers were marked wrong because there's no communication with regards to that. Instead, there are constant reminders that the fees need to be paid - that's the only time I hear from the student advisors. The lockdown system for the exam is not working. I have ten days left to write exams and still, my email remains unanswered. I reached out to my classmates, they're having the same issues. Practical subjects like accounting need a lot more workshops that we have. The college is frustrating. It's already so difficult to work and study at the same time, and to work so hard for college fees when this is the service that one gets. I've asked them to deregister me, and they still haven't. I will not pay any fees, because they fail to communicate. I've called, sent WhatsApps and have emailed. No response. One lecturer that quit was lecturing General Management. He's had to lecture for Accounting too. The college isn't even aware. He doesn't have to lecturer in his spare time. He's not getting paid for it because he stopped working at the school, but he does because he wants to help us and is available all the time.
