UNSAFE HOLIDAY RESORT IN SOUTH AFRICA

The past long weekend, my family and I experience the worst feeling of our lives. The fire place installed in the cabin started smoking around it instead of through it. This caused the thatch roof to be engulfed in fire, with NO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS OR FIRE HOSES Available at any of the cabins. We tried in vain to put it out with our own fire extinguisher. Also placing four calls with the management to inform that the roof was fire, in which they responded they have another emergency on the other side of the property. The lack of response to our emergency and only arriving an hour an half later caused myself and my family to watch as our possessions were burnt. There was no help from the management for accommodation, as they turn us away at 20:30 in the evening to travel back to our home. The next day we telephoned the owner who was aggressive and blamed us for the fire - to date we still have not heard from her. We have reported it to the Police and we are still awaiting an answer from them if there insurance will reimburse us for our possessions.
