RDG POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I took my bmw 540 e39, 2000 car to RDG boksburg to have a diagnostics done on the gearbox. the car was driving fine but had a torque slip when going uphill and with low revs. i thought the torque converter was on it way out and needed an expert opinion. I did the diagnostics and it was confirmed that the torque converter was indeed slipping. a week after i decided to book the car for gearbox overhaul for Repair of auto transmittion and torque converter recon. Jobcard no: 14372 on the 19/07/2021 for vin no: WBADN62090GF12592. Danie, the branch manager told me that a 50% deposit was required to start ordering the parts. TOTAL QUOTE WAS R38180,00 INCL VAT. I paid R18000,00 on the 19th and R2000,00 on the 22nd july 2021. He Advised lead time to repair overhaul the gearbox was 2 weeks. a week after payment i called and was told that due to the unrest some staff members were not at work and they will resume on the car once everything is settled. another week goes by without any response from Danie. i call again the week after and was told parts didn't arrive as the supplier couldn't get the parts. Last week friday i call again and was told by Danie - who doesn't respond to my emails - that the parts have arrived and that they busy assembling the gearbox and that i will get the car midweek week of the 16th of August, a month since the car has been there. i receive a message Tuesday 17th that the car will be done on thursday or friday same week as technitian had an issue with assembly of some forward drum on the gearbox. i call again on wednesday and mentioned that the conversation i had with him was the car would be done midweek. Danie mentioned that they will assemble everything thursday 19th August. i call again on friday 20th august and he says that they again had an issue assembling the gearbox. at this time im now gatfol as i use this car for my business and this chap Danie doenst know how to provide feedback to the customer and everytime its one excuse after the other. its not like i am begging for repairs on this car as im paying for everything they should fix.

Reviewer Update
After the review I made I was contacted by the company and they expedited the repairs on my vehicle. I do understand that every company has internal delays and supplier delays but the one thing I should encourage RDG is to constantly provide feedback to customers regarding any delays they experiencing.
