Poor Workmanship

I have had a replacement automatic gearbox fitted on my isuzu bakkie , however there has been endless issues from the time it was fitted. There were numerous oil leaks which the technicians could not identify , I had to point it out to them. The proper o ring was not used on the gearbox , however they sealed it up with thread tape and silicone. The gearbox is now stuffed up and needs replacing again , maybe I was just unlucky and given a defective gearbox. After paying a large sum of money for the work to be done , very disappointed with the service that I received as I believed that they were the best in the industry , however not , no professionalism and quality workmanship.

Good day Mr Dwarika The sequence of events following the repairs performed by us to your vehicle have been checked and we confirm the following:  We supp**** a remanufactured transmission to you on 14 May 2018 and the KM reading at that time was 333161  On 9 November 2018 with your vehicles KM reading 341942, we attended to and repaired the oil leak by installing new seals (O-rings) under our Warranty. At that time, we also added Anti-freeze supp**** by you to the Radiator  On 30 November 2019, you brought your vehicle to our workshop and stated that the transmission was ‘shock’ shifting at times. The level of the fluid in the transmission was checked and we added 500ml. (NB. The colour of the oil on dipstick was still red) the vehicle was driven around the block and we noted that transmission shock shifted into drive. Arrangements were then made with Key Pinetown on Monday 2 December 2019 to have the transmission checked and scanned on their diagnostic machine. However, you did not take the vehicle to Key Pinetown and the transmission was scanned elsewhere. You then informed Deon that you had ordered a new speed sensor for the vehicle. Deon said that he would assist with the other sensor once you brought the vehicle back to us after scanning. It is understood that code noted was P0602-8, which denotes a Programming error  On 6 December 2019, you sent Deon some pictures via WhatsApp, which showed the sump of transmission had been removed and that were with metal fragments lying in sump. You stated and I quote  “Looks like I need a new box” Deon rep**** that he could only determine the extent of the damage once the transmission is stripped and examined. You rep**** that you would come with the vehicle in the new week. The km reading of your vehicle is currently 361691  On Sunday 8 December 2019, you contacted Deon and enquired whether we have to put a new or reconditioned transmission in? On Monday 9 December 2019, Deon rep**** that a reconditioned transmission might have to be installed.  These are the salient facts and Deon is mystified why you have criticised him or his workmanship in the post recorded on Hellopeter.com and Face Book as we have not declined or refused to assist you in this matter?

Reviewer Update
Below is a list of events , 3 December 2019 at 7 am the vechile was taken to key delta as instructed by Deon , to see Trevor, however the machine at key delta could not link up with the vechile, and could not be diagnosed. I then had met my mate that does diagnostic tests for all vechile types , he had the test done for me and the error code was picked up and sent to Deon.Being the festive season I needed the vechile to be mobile , after I had the sensors changed by myself and the problem persisted , I then had the oil sump opened , and discovered the damage, and sent the pics to Deon via WhatsApp.The reason for my review , for the work that had been done on the gearbox when it was installed it should have given me at least 5 years life span / 65000 km on it , however after just 1 and a half years / 28500 km , the box has malfunctioned , therefore I am questioning the workmanship.

Good afternoon Mr Dwarika.
Your reply has been noted
When we replaced the transmission in May 2018, it was covered by a Warranty of 12 months or 20000 km's which ever came first. As confirmed by you, your vehicle has now travelled a distance of 28530 km's and 19 months have elapsed since the repair was performed. As a result of you having taken your vehicle to another service provider, our ability to even attempt to assist you has been nullified
