Bad Service
My car is still at RDG Boksburg from 22nd September 2020 and have not received any confirmation to when my car will be fixed and ready for collection. I have to phone on a daily basis the get information regarding the progress on my car their customer service is very very bad and no feedback is given. I wish they can fix my car sooner so that I do not have to deal with them again.

16 Oct 2020, 13:09Good afternoon Mr PetersonMy earlier response with regard to your complaint on Hellopeter refers.I have received a comprehensive report on the sequence of events and I would like to point out the following:
- Firstly, your vehicle was delivered to us by means of break down truck on the 29th September 2020
- We observed that there was a hole in the gearbox casing and that the 5th gear selector fork was broken
- As a result of work constraints we only removed the gearbox from the vehicle on the 2nd October 2020
- During this period …from the 29th September 2020 until the 2nd October 2020 you made numerous calls to determine progress with the repair as you stated you required your vehicle to be completed within 2-3 days
- After the gearbox was removed and dismantled, you were contacted and invited to come and inspect the damaged / failed components
- An estimate was provided to you dated the 8th October 2020, whereupon you informed us that we needed to contact your Insurers re the mechanical policy you had with them so that a claim to cover the repair costs would be made
- We then communicated with your Insurance Company and they took some time, (beyond our control) requesting pictures of the failed components as well as your vehicles service history before making a decision as to what their contribution would be towards the repair costs
- We then requested you to provide us with the service history so that we in turn could provide your Insurers
- On the 13th October 2020 we were provided with authorisation by your Insurers to proceed with the repair but to a value considerably less from what we originally quoted
- You were informed accordingly and you informed us that you could not afford to pay the balance outstanding, after taking the Insurers contribution into account.
- You then asked us to revise our quotation so that it ‘fell’ within the authorised amount. NB. The original quotation stipulated a new casing and our revised quote in accordance with your request was to repair the damaged casing by having it welded
- The broken casing was handed to our Supplier on the 14th October 2020 with the request to repair it
- We also received authorisation from your Insurer on the 14th October 2020 that we could proceed with the aluminium welding repair
- We confirm that you telephoned us on Wednesday 14 October 2020 and yesterday Thursday the 15th October 2020 at which time we advised you that a repair of this nature is specialised and would take between 2-3 days (from Wednesday) to complete.
- You again contacted us this morning when it was explained to you once more that we were waiting for the repaired casing to be returned to us.
- If time permitted we would do everything we could to reassemble the gearbox and refit it to your vehicle, but you need to understand that this is not something that we could do quickly.
- At the time of this communication the casing has not been provided to us
- Our estimation therefore, is that your vehicle should be ready for you on Tuesday afternoon the 20th October 2020
- However, should it be ready before hand we will notify you
