Hi
My dad recently brought our vehicle to your BOKSBURG branch for a gearbox diagnosis/repair - To be honest, I am appalled by the quality of workmanship and service received from RDG gearboxes over the last week. Please read further as the sequence of events lead me to think that we were cheated and **** to.
DATE ACTION During 10 April - 15 April Car taken into RDG for diagnosis check as there was sort of a shuttering noise During 10 April - 15 April DIAGNOSIS from RDG - drive shaft, prop shaft and bearings are broken and need replacement 16-Apr-19 Invoice received for R16 031(VAT INCL.) and Payment was made 17-Apr-19 Whilst car being driven home, there was an issue found with the 5th gear - The 5th gear was operating like 4th gear. 18-Apr-19 RDG were informed of the issue - The response from RDG was that OUR original gearbox is actually being reconned - So this didn’t make any sense because we already paid on the 16th April for 'our' gearbox that was fixed? 18-Apr-19 RDG advised that we need to schedule to bring car in on 23 April 2019 (see attached email) 19-Apr-19 Car is in for repairwork
Questions/ Concerns • If there wasn’t an issue with the 4th and 5th gear, we would not know that we had a gearbox from another car and we would have been CHARGED for something that we did not PAY FOR. • It seems that we were **** to • Why is there no detailed breakdown of repair work – There is no pricing linked to work and parts. The national credit act states that you need to supply your customer a detailed invoice so that the customer knows exactly what he/she is paying for • How do we know that the new drive shafts were even fitted – We have no trust anymore • How do we know that the original gearbox has been fitted back to the car - We have no trust anymore
I will not let the issue just be swept under the carpet because this is totally unacceptable.
From a customer service point of view, we only received an apology of the work done.
Expectation in Terms of a Solution Since there is no trust from my side, I would like to request for either “money back and put all parts back to how it was so I can get it fixed elsewhere” OR “A discount and a longer term warranty” on parts and because we have no guarantee that the work was carried out correctly – We cannot be driving back and forth as a result of poor workmanship.
Best regards,
Best regards,
