Reward Auto Auction **** ALERT

**** Alert: Reward Auto Auctioneers looks great in Watsapp, but when you start interacting with their staff, all the red flags pop up. They ask for 50% to secure a vehicle BEFORE the auction date, so that you’ll get a discounted rate. They’ll even offer finance for the other 50%. When you ask to see the vehicle first, they say the vehicle is in a secured lot and only buyers who have paid 50% deposit are allowed in with a reference number. I app**** for a vehicle’s credentials at X-amount, and when the finances portion was less than R5k, there was no time wasted in saying they’d just give it to me at less so I could make a full payment without requiring financing. When I asked for their sales agreement, I was sent an invoice. When I said I’d come through to their premises on the day, with the finance, paid after the purchase agreement was signed and I had viewed the car, they said that the auction was happening today and if I didn’t pay now, I’d lose out on the car at my discounted price, as it would be auctioned. When I asked what the auction process was, they had no idea what I was referring to. All effort was made on their part to get me to transfer ANY sum of finance to secure the vehicle so it would not go to auction, as a ‘special deal’ they were doing for me. There was absolutely no opportunity to view the vehicle first with a 50% deposit, and no permission to enter premises without a reference number that I was awarded after payment. They throw in all the right terminology, but when I said there would be no chance of me transferring any sun of money before I’d seen the vehicle and verified the auction agreement with ABSA, they said they wouldn’t be able to help me.
