Poor service rendered

Retro Customz's FB album serves as a good ad; my son's beetle project also features (pic1) it's just a pity they do not feature the final product(pic2). To be blunt: "nice from far but far from nice".

I am new to the restoration business and was knocked twice on the same car. I told them that if lm happy that l would bring 2 other cars (Liftback/Cortina Mk1) too. My humanness cost me dearly though - COVID struck and instead of sticking to payment arrangements, l deviated by making part-payment when asked so that they could meet commitment and pay salaries.

Needless to say paid bull of cost and when work had to be done it was done slapdashly. The partner started hassling me to pay the balance. Upon stating that as a client l first want to check the car and have a retention amount, l was threatened with storage charges etc. My son didn't want a scene and asked me to fetch the car. The floorboards were done in black so that it was not easy to see that they have not welded up part thereof in the workshop. This is what the car looks like (see pics). Nothing is lined up properly, hence they damaged the paintwork when closing doors etc.

This is really demoralising. You budget for everything that must be done but then your hard-earned money goes down the drain but KARMA will definitely come around. To would be restorers please do your homework. I will definitely not recommend Retro Customz's.
