This is definately a ********** company. On Friday 30 September this company ********ly put a debit order through on my account. At no stage did i sign or agreed to any extra debit orders going through on my account. When i phoned this "so-called" company i got through to a voice mail saying its now after their working hours and that i must call again today. When i tried to call at 10 this morning the number came back as a non-existant number.... strangely enough when i tried to call again after 1 the number suddenly worked again. Got through to a lady that then quickly put me through to her "manager", the manager then gave me the old story of them only being the 3rd party and that i must contact their client Asiphephe Marketing who put through the debit order information. She then said that she will investigate the matter and take me off their list.... blah blah blah.... The company was also a 031 number... i see a lot of people are given KZN based companies's information.

I then phoned this company and strangely enough the guy just answered with a hello... no company name given. This guy then told me that they are not responsible as it goes through their client again as they are only the marketers.... so they are innocent again and he needs to now investigate.... strange how its now always someone else.... this is the biggest load of bull.... this is *****!!!!!!!!!!!!! These people are *****ing money left right and centre. We have to work hard for our money and they just take whatever they want. It might not be very big amounts that they take, but if they do that with every second person, they get very rich.....

Now my other question on this is.... who is they person selling them people's bank information?? Someone in the bank themselves maybe?? And cant the bank come up with better safety measures concerning debit orders. They have lovely measures in place when it comes to loading new beneficiaries? Why cant they do the same with loading a new debit order on someone's account?

I now have to go and close my account and hope and pray the same doesnt happen with the new account... Our money isnt even safe in our own accounts... we have to pay banking fees and not even be sure that your money is safe.

***** ***** ***** *****

Dear Ilse

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint.

Retriever is a third party payment service provider that facilitates the collection of debit orders on behalf of our clients (“the requestors”). The requestors instruct Retriever to collect amounts based on the services and or products that they provide. The requestors, amongst others, warrant and guarantee that there are legal and valid mandates for the payment instructions forwarded to Retriever for processing. As a result, Retriever electronically processes these debit orders on the requestor’s instruction.

We will gladly assist you in resolving this matter. Due to the confidential nature thereof we will communicate to your private email address.

We trust that the complaint will be resolved to your satisfaction.

Should you require any further information, please feel free to contact us.

Regards

The Retriever team

This matter is definately not resplved as far as im concerned. After being in contact with "Asiphephe Marketing" and demanding that i was send proof of my so-called contract they send me a voice contract. To my surprise im now Indian. The voice of the female that was now supposed to be me clearly has an indian accent. I am now seeking legal advise on this matter. I am not just going to let this go as this is identity theft and *****. This whole thing is now forcing me to change my bank account as my privacy is no longer protected as the clearly have all my details. If Retriever ft is really not part of this company i feel that they should also take this further and also do better checks on the companies the deal with!

Dear Ilse

Retriever’s activities can be distinguished into 2 main streams of business, being that of (1) a Systems Operator (“SO”) and (2) a Third Party Payment Provider (“TPPP”). Retriever is registered for both at the Payments Association of South Africa (“PASA”);

For TPPP – transactions processed by Retriever flow from the account holder to a nominated account held in the name of Retriever. Retriever then pays these funds after reversals and fees and at agreed times to the nominated account of Retriever’s client. In the event of a query by an account holder, Retriever’s contact details are provided as the transaction was processed on the Retriever user code. Retriever then assists account holders by providing them with the details of the business that initiated the transaction.

Should you require any further information, please feel free to contact us.
