ResumeDone.io traps you into a subscription and violates their own refund policy

Resumedone.io is a fantastic web application, but I cannot say the same for their business practices. After signing up for a free account, I started building my resume. At no point while building it was I informed about paying for it. Nevertheless, at the end, I had my shiny Resume and was informed that I needed to pay a small fee for the template. I was happy to do so. I paid, and received my resume. All was well. 1 week later, I was deducted $30 for a subscription fee.

I reached out resumedone.io and informed them that I did not consent to a subscription, and they did not adequately inform me that I would be doing so when I paid for the template. I requested a stop on my subscription and a refund. They did stop my subscription (I think) but they have refused to refund me. Their reasons for refusing my refund were that they believed they did adequately inform me of the subscription on the site. Well, "adequate" is a bit subjective here. I may have missed a notice with the information, but purely because I was excited to use the tool. Furthermore, they have a refund policy for exactly these types of reasons. You cannot have a "no questions asked" refund policy and then refuse a refund request (please note: I DID submit my refund claim within the stipulated 14 days).

It is ********* and shameful to trap customers into a subscription fee, even if it only gets deducted for one month. FURTHERMORE, they have a 15 day "no questions asked" refund policy, but STILL they are refusing to do the refund. This is a breach of my customer rights and their own refund policy.

Had ResumeDone.io simply refunded me, I would still have recommended it to others and potentially have considered a subscription for myself. But since they have taken this dogmatic and ********* stance on refusing to refund 1 month of subscription fees, you can be sure that I will never recommend them to anyone else again, and will be going out of my way to publicise this on social media.
