Refund for wrong and poor quality work.

I reached out to this company in July 2020 for data analysis service. I opted for them because they seem like a legit company. Fast forward to end of September 2020 and they haven't delivered on their promise (even though they promised a turnaround of 21 days).

I noticed all the analysis they did for me were incorrect and even after I gave them sufficient time to fix it, they still couldn't. Their statistician didn't even recode some of my variables that required recoding, and this basically nullifies all the analysis they performed.

I remember telling them on many occasions to reach out to me if they need any form of clarity, they didn't until I realised thy were analysing my work wrongly. If I didn't know what I was doing, they would have gotten away with wrong and poor analysis. I have provided explanation upon explanation but it seem they are incapable of doing good work.

The person to blame in this whole saga is Maleni Pillay, who prevented the statistician from talking to me when the statistician requested to do so. She also prevented me from talking to the management of her company because she is trying to cover up her mistakes.

I have requested for a full refund of my deposit (R3000), but she is adamant she won't refund money. This is coming from a company who claims they put clients before profit. I have threads of email to back up my complaints. Not only have they wasted my time, I am back to where I started before reaching out to the. I am now forced to find another statistician, which is now costing me money i didn't plan for.

Dear Client, we were unaware of this post till a loyal client shared this with us recently. We do recall you made this allegation with a South African regulator, and because they realised some of your claims were either untrue or lacked good reasoning, they threw the case out. We believe this is a rather unfair and bias post in an attempt to tarnish the image of a long serving member of our team – Ms Pillay Maleni; whom you would agree was very kind and helpful to you. Firstly, several of our clients will testify the worth, reliability and credibility of whom Ms Pillay Maleni.

Secondly, our Clients and you (in person) are aware that the Researchers Beyond-Borders (PTY) Ltd is a legitimate and registered company in South Africa. It may be a waste of time to provide proof. Thirdly, on turnaround of 21 days, we did give specific reasons why 21 days was not attainable, in which you agreed. You seem to have forgotten you contributed to the delay as you resent a different set of objectives; you resent information from some other participants whilst our Statistician already commenced work.  “I noticed that my research participants answered the question on psychological safety wrongly and so Cronbach's alpha may be difficult for the "psychological safety' component of "Psychological conditions", so I requested the participants to answer that part of the questionnaire again. (On Tue, 08 Sep 2020 04:50:31 +0100 Akinlawon Amoo)”. This was only sent by you on the 8th of September, 2020.

Fourthly, its untrue Maleni would not allow you speak to the Statistician. Upon your request to speak to our Statistician, we did inform you about the loss (death) of Statistician’s loved one. Statistician deserved some comfort and space while mourning. To attest to this, you did send your condolence. A week after, you spoke directly to our Statistician telephonically. We have sufficient evidence that you did speak to the Statistician more than twice.

Also, its untrue she will not allow you speak to the Management of the Company. In one of her last communication with you, she requested a joint meeting among you, your Supervisor, Statistician and Management to finalise your Analysis as you said it was not completed (in which we find as to be untrue). Our team was more than willing to have a one-on-one with your Supervisor, as she had the final say to your analysis, but you would not let that happen.

It’s rather sad that after weeks of hard work by our Statistician, you will not pay your outstanding fee. Email exchanges and communique between you, Maleni and Statistician are sufficient evidence that work sent to you were not wrong. Your emails show you were in agreement with analysis and you wanted more depth, which was done by the Statistician.

“Thank you for the document. I have looked through the analysis. There is a lot of improvement (On Wed, 16 Sep 2020 17:03:45 +0100 Akinlawon Amoo)”

We believe you should personally apologise to Ms Maleni Pillay on every platform you may have tried to tarnish her image.

It is shameful how your company uses bits and pieces of my response to argue your case. Really shameful. Why don’t you post all the communication between me and your employee here. Anyways, what’s done is done and lesson learnt is valuable. Be more professional and use proper statisticians. And for the record, everything I wrote is true.

Good luck to you.

And by the way, the statistician you used, told me Maleni gave him a lot of wrong feedback and he requested to speak to me. It wasn’t until I started noticing errors in the analysis that she finally gave me his contacts. And when I finally spoke to him, he confirmed that instructions given to him by Maleni were you unclear. Yet, when the analysis was done (which was by the way late and below-standard) many errors were detected. Ask your statistician if you don’t believe me. And you claim your balance wasn’t paid when in actual fact, you should be refunding me.

You said a South African regular threw my case out because they found my claims were untrue. You lie again. See their response below:

“Dear Mr Amoo,

YOUR COMPLAINT AGAINST Researchers Beyond Borders (Maleni Pillay) We acknowledge receipt of your complaint on 29 September 2020, which does not fall within our area of jurisdiction, as set out in the Code of Conduct, so we cannot deal with it, for the following reason:

Another Ombud Jurisdiction

The matter has, however, been referred to South African Pharmacy Council in the hope that they are able to assist you. Kindly correspond directly with South African Pharmacy Council in future.”

It is sad, how you peddle more lies to defend a lie. It is such a shame and I can take time to negate all your arguments one after another, but I won’t waste valuable time on this anymore.

Good luck, because you need it.

We have provided evidence from your emails to show you are ********* and not to be trusted by any company or individual. We possibly can not post emails of over three months on this platform. We were simply bringing out your shameful lies and cover ups. We probably will not have known about this fallacies if a client didn’t call our attention to this.

You claim a work was below standard, yet you agreed to the analysis on a number of cases.

We have exceled over the last 10 years due to the synergy among our team members. I followed carefully the interactions between you, Maleni and Statistician, and there were no communication gaps. The data forwarded to our Company email by you, was the exact material used by our Statistician.

We learnt from you, we get details of Supervisors when dealing with students to avoid ********* clients who benefit from our service but … do not want to pay.

Can you provide proof that the Analysis sent to you was not used in your study??

Sadly, you benefitted from our service, and presently using every ********* means to avoid payment.  It’s on record you owe us, and we strongly advise any one dealing with you at any capacity to collect their cash upfront….for dishonest clients like you would never pay up when payment is due.

And again, we stand by every claim in our earlier post. As regards comment on South African regulatory; your case was thrown out because of the obvious lies. Did you bother to enquire the email exchanges between us and them….before claiming they were lies?

Why can’t you provide a counter-claim/ argument to evidences we provided??

Nicole,

First, I have no problems with whatever name you call me. I will not provide proof more than the email thread you have already. Read it and speak to Maleni and your statistician and with a proper conscience, you should see your errors.

And as to me benefitting from the analysis, not one thing was used from your analysis. Let’s take it to court if you need proof.

And why have you not followed up with me since last year about this payment you refer to. Get a lawyer to come after me for that money and see how this matter will unfold.

I leave you to your conscience.

Nicole,

If everything you say makes you happy and you can sleep at night. Good luck.

Clearly, you need help. If you want to take this matter up legally, I am very happy to do that.
You will be suprised.

And please, I dare you to do so.
