Repsold Renovation - Bad Workmanship and Ethics
One of the worst experiences dealing with Jean Repsold and Team
Firstly - Upon viewing the site, some images were taken from his cellphone but that was short-lived; he said he would remember. Once the quote had come, yes an 80% deposit was paid but there were items he had listed that were incorrect and misleading.
Secondly - He subcontracts a team who does the plasterwork and tiling on his behalf while he gallivants. The tiles were not laid correctly, skew trimmings, shoddy plasterwork, and a whole lot more. Once this was laid, he said it is not correct, and a few days later he believes that it is up to his standards never mind the lack of tile cement that was supp****, which now leaves me with cracked tiles. I had a professional steel and balustrade company confirm this poor workmanship. This is not a cheap mistake, it costs almost R500.00 per tile that is laid, I now have to get another contractor to chip tiles and replace them correctly at my own expense as Jean Repsold "the paid in full contractor" would not return messages nor correct his mistakes.
Thirdly - leaves the site after installing a door lock for my bedroom in which the key cannot access the lock as it was not installed correctly.
Fourth - Ensuite bathroom ceiling which was completed the 09/12/2022 was not done correctly as I had stipulated and now shows signs of cracks.
Fifthly - Some walls had not been painted and missed which he was supposed to repaint the outside of my house with two coats.
The site had been left a mess, light fittings and floors still have paint on and the list just goes on.
I had given Jean Repsold an opportunity not because it came down to pricing or budget but believed a 30-year-old gentleman would grow with the clients I would refer to him after completing my job properly but this was not the case.
In conclusion - I would highly recommend spending that little bit extra on a reputable company and steer away from using Repsold Renovations. Their work is sub-standard, with poor workmanship, and unprofessional
