bad vasectomy at RC(Reproductive wellness)
initially RC in centurion(54 Lyttelton ave) seemed very good staff was friendly aswell as the doctor and nurses, the place it self was clean and professional but that is where it stopped for me. I had a vasectomy done and had some complications that followed i am still recovering after one month which was suppose to be fine after 1-2 weeks. Let just say from visiting another doctor i was told that the doctor at RC does not know how to do a vasectomy and i was not told about the real complications that could follow. I had to go to ER after 2weeks as the swelling was so bad i had to be drained my wound was tearing open and i had to get new stitches and till now im still struggling with my wound but after the ER its bin much better. The incision the doctor had done was far too large for a normal vasectomy and i suffered with large hematomas. After calling them for advise I was met with rudeness and no compassion till today they haven't bothered contacting me to find out if im ok. My advise do not go here for male wellness!! and think twice if you think having a vasectomy is a simple operation!!
We are terribly sorry that you had a bad recovery. Aftercare after any procedure is crucial and is the patient’s responsibility for a successful procedure. We explained the procedure and the aftercare during counselling, in theatre and in recovery to you and your mother. You also signed a consent form to state that you understood the procedure and all aftercare involved. We assisted your mother over the phone with wound care instructions again. You had three check-up appointments booked which you neither cancelled nor showed up for. With any medical procedure, there is aftercare that the patient is responsible for, we cannot help you if you don’t come in. If you follow our instructions religiously, there should not have been a problem. Our Dr is a surgeon that works in one of the biggest hospitals in Gauteng and has hundreds of procedures under his belt. Your issue would have resolved if you continued with instructions as per post op leaflet that your received and your follow up check-up’s. Again we are sorry that you had a bad recovery and we would gladly make another check-up appointment for you. Our doors are always open.
