RENAULT DUSTER 1.5DCI WON'T START

I bought a brand new Duster 1.5dci (previous model). Not long after taking ownership the car strugglled starting in the morning and when it did would spew huge plumes of smoke. I contacted Bryanston and was told that this was normal. The rememdy offered: turn the key half way and let it sit for a minute. Even though I found this ridiculous (it is a 2019 model) I tried it. That too did not work. After sending them a video showing this they completely ignored my messages and I have not heard from them since (about a month now).
