Renault Bryanston service issues
On 9th January 2020 I had given in my car as there was a ticking sound which a technician confirmed as due to the timer that needed to be changed. A few issues have arisen since then:
1) I was asked to make a penalty payment even though my car was under warranty; the reason being that my 60K service had not been done as yet. I was told going forward any issue which requires warranty will incur a penalty fee for me. I find this really odd and it's the first I am hearing of a brand penalising a client for such a thing.
2) I had to wait more than a day for this issue to be resolved and no courtesy cars were available which is not acceptable from a brand such as Renault.
3) After taking the car and driving it, I had stopped somewhere and when I came back to leave, the car wouldn't start. I was told the battery has an issue. The car is relatively new, I don't understand how the battery could die; somehow the battery power was drained while being at the service workshop. I had to go and get a new battery which cost me R1200, an unnecessary cost for me to bear.
4) To get my service I was quoted a fee in the range of R3000 odd. Taking into account all the above issues and extra costs I suffered, the service fee needs to be re-evaluated.
I laid a formal complaint with the customer service department on Monday 13th Jan and I only got an apology SMS from the service department. I have had no formal call back to address these issues after the customer service representative promised for an investigation.
I find this kind of service is really appalling from Renault and does not give me motive to buy going forward. Seems as though the brand is only concerned of how much money they can get a customer to spend. I bought my car from this franchise 3 years ago and have to say it's not met my expectations.
I would like the dealer principal to contact me to resolve these issues.
