Rentalcars and Avis Ripoff

Be very careful. Rental Cars acts as an intermediary. You are actually booking with the rental company. They give you what seems to be a great deal - when you first book and pay - but they provide you with an unsuitable vehicle and then claim that they have no other vehicles available. ( I was given the smallest in class and - when I asked for a vehicle with more boot space - I was told they have no other vehicles. I was forced to upgrade and the company simply deducted more than double the original rental fee. Complaints to Rentalcars and Avis (the actual supplier) are simply ignored. What looks like a good deal initially - lands up costing you more than double.
