REFUND WITHHELD FROM RENTAL CARS / EUROPE CARS

On 21 December 2019 my office manager booked a vehicle on behalf of me through Europe Car for collection on 23 December 2019 at 08:00 (my personal car broke down and that was the reason for the booking). I got my car fixed and asked her to cancel the booking which she did on 23 December 2019 @07:35 and she spoke to a lady called Dora who confirmed the cancellation and she also confirmed that there will be no penalties or deductions, therefor no money would be deducted from my credit card. On 6 January 2020 I discovered that the amount of R6,135.19 was deducted from my credit card account by RENTALCARS.com. We contacted them immediately and requested a refund, they refuse to do the refund. This is theft, how can they withhold the whole amount as we did not even booked through them but through Europe Car. Europe Car is just shrinking their shoulders and say that Rental Cars should refund me.
