BE AWARE OF RENTALCARD.COM AND SURPRICE IN GREECE! They use shabby service providers such as SURPRICE IN GREECE. I had a bad experience in Greece in December 2019 with a car that I wanted to rent through RentalCars. I booked a car via Rentalcars. At the Athens airport I met the SurPrice representative. He confirmed with me that I have my International Drivers License with me. He transported me and my family to an offsite office which was quite a distance from the airport. At our arrival there, there were no cars. They requested my drivers license and passport. I had my international drivers license with me that I always use abroad.They took it and made copies. Suddenly the representative demanded my South African drivers license. He said it is law in Greece that you cannot drive a car with an international drivers license, but can only use your country's driver license. I have travelled across the world and have never used my South African drivers license in another country. I had my international drivers license (like I always use overseas) with me, but SurPrice refused to accept it. They refuse to give me a car and refused to refund me as well. My family and I were stranded in the middle of nowhere. They treated us very badly. As we have not yet connected our mobile phones, I started to walk towards the airport area. I walked to Hertz's office, and rent a car through them without any trouble. They accepted my international drivers license. They also confirmed that the "local" requirement as stated by SurPrice, is not true. There were also other people ****med by SurPrice that also rental via Hertz. I have been ****med by a service provider of RentalCars. It turned out to be a very expensive car hire experience. I will never use Rentalcars again. BE AWARE!
