No Customer service when help is needed

I hired a vehicle to be picked up at Windhoek International Airport. While going through the procedure to collect the vehicle it was noticed that there was an error on the kms permitted for the rental. The booking was only for 200km per day and I was to travel over 1000km in two days. The booking was for two days. The cost for the extra km's was going to be more than the actual rental. This was discussed at length with the representative before collecting the vehicle.

The agent at Hertz advised they could not help me as this was a prepaid booking. I then contacted Rental Cars to help but was told that the mileage policy was that of the agent and that rental cars.com (The online platform that I made the booking with) could not assist and referred me back to the Agent (Hertz). The agent then advised that the booking is a pre-paid booking and that I needed to contact Rental Cars.

I could not wait as it was getting late on this Sunday afternoon and so collected the vehicle in the hope that Rental Cars or Hertz could help me (As their client) while I had the vehicle. Many more phone calls were made with the same story every time.

I agreed that I had made a booking with limited kms and that this was my mistake but I needed help to find a solution to my problem. I felt that all I was dealing with was a group of people that were trained to say the same thing over and over again. No customer service to my request for help.

I dealt with Naambo at the Windhoek international counter when I collected the vehicle.

I also spoke with Angelo the branch manager when I returned the vehicle, but no-one could help.

I spoke with Daniel Garcia and Stefano Cattaneo to name only a few at rental cars.com

Completely disappointed client and more than a double payment for the whole booking. Hertz and rental cars seems happy to just take my money and not even look into a customer’s cry for help.
