DEFECTIVE CAR AND REFUSE TO REFUND

I recently hired a car for 30 days via Rentalcars and supp**** by Thrifty. First of all the car shown on the website does not exist, instead they only have one brand of a car. So the when they say similar, it is a lie. So I got to Thrifty Midrand branch and was given a car which I was not happy with and requested if I could change it with the same group even if I have to go to another branch to pick it up. I was told that the car shown on the website is discontinued, they don't have it at any branch. So I decided to take the vehicle. Drove the vehicle for 4 days and felt so unsafe, the rear view mirror is blurry and you can not see properly the cars behind you. The mirror would affect my sight whenever I looked at it and I would regain my full visibility after few seconds. It was terrible and dangerous. I returned the vehicle on the 4th day as I could not risk my life and requested for my refund since they could not give me another vehicle of the same group. Thrifty referred me to Rental cars because that is where I booked the vehicle, fair enough. I contacted rental cars and was told that they can only look at my case after the 30days. When the 30 days lapsed I opened the case and was told that I can not refund for unused days as Thrifty do not refund as well. I contacted Thrifty and they confirmed that they only charged for used cars and I should get my refund because Rentalcars did not pay Thrifty for 30 days but only 4. All Rentalcars can say is about the unused days, they could not be bothered with my safety which I raised. Their communication channel is so frustrating, you can't directly engage with the person who is handling your case or even a supervisor or manager. They would send you very shallow messages using a no reply email. I tried using the South African line ( ********** 705). The worst part is, I can not get hold of them here in South Africa. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THEM. THEY ARE QUICK TO GET YOUR MONEY AFTER THAT THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY. IT IS FRUSTRATING GUYS!
