The worst car rental company in Cape Town

They gave me a car with NONE of the air working in the car - impossible to demist windows which is REALLY dangerous. They gave me a second car which refused to start reliably and the man I spoke to at the company had the audacity to laugh at me. He also said I needed to drive the car every day - obvious nonsense. If a car can’t sit for 24 hours without being driven or its battery will lose charge, they should not be renting out that car or they should change the battery. They gave me a third car, and after I used it for a week, the clutch cable snapped while I was on my way to work. They didn’t replace that car, just sent a guy out to repair it.

In the middle of all this, they raised the price of the rental without prior notice - one month I was paying R4800, the next it became R6900 just like that. Also, I had a radio ****** out of the car while I was using it - I had to pay R1600 for that, so what the hell was the “insurance” I was paying for supposed to cover? They also charged me R1400 for a small sc**** on the bumper of a white car because they apparently do whatever they want.

Not a single word of reassurance or apology was issued from the company to me for the terrible cars I was given and the truly terrifying experience of your clutch suddenly not working as you’re driving.

I will never rent from them again, and I will never recommend them. They have ****** enough of my money and enough of my peace of mind. I hope they run themselves into the ground. Not far to go, given the state of their business.
